Duties of Administrative Assistant:
Pleasantly greet visitors
Assist visitors and employees by providing appropriate information
Answer telephone, assist callers as needed, forward to appropriate person
Provide support to all departments such as Human Resources, Sales, Operations, Accounting, etc.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Assisting with all aspects of administrative management, equipment inventory and organized storage
Coordinating between departments and operating units in resolving and completing day-to-day administrative and operational tasks and problems
Scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, events and other similar activities
Sending out and receiving mail and packages
Preparing business correspondences, typically using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Sending faxes
Heavy filing
Data entry
Creating new employee files, enter into electronic database
New hire orientation
Print daily schedule
Assist employees in accordance with company policies and government regulations
Distribute payroll for staff
Performing multifaceted general office support
Preparing and routing internal support materials
Assist with all day-to-day company operations

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
