This is a key leadership role with Liberty's mental health program based onsite at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga (San Bernardino County), California.
With a bed capacity exceeding three thousand, the West Valley Detention Center is one of largest county jails in the United States.
As Chief Psychiatrist, you will enjoy a wide array of leadership responsibilities - including:
Ensuring a significant number of adults have access to and receive high quality mental health services Building and leading a large team of Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners Overseeing various peer review and quality assurance initiatives Identifying opportunities to decrease the risk of inmate self-harm and suicide Collaborating with LCSWs, LMFTs, RNs and other ancillary professionals Liaising with members of the Sheriff's Department, jail administration and Liberty's executive management teamAs Liberty Healthcare's Chief Psychiatrist, you will join a team of subject matter experts and nationally-recognized leaders in the forensic, correctional and public behavioral health fields.
Moreover, you will have the opportunity to impact the mental health of a significant number of people - many of whom have been historically underserved.
You're a good fit for this position if you possess a California medical license and are Board Certified in Psychiatry.
A successful leadership track record is required - andexperience serving forensic patients or people who have serious mental illness within an inpatient psychiatric hospital, correctional facility or secure / locked mental health setting is preferred.
